Stupid Things People Say: Truth Cannot Be Known

Have you ever heard one of those people who in trying to avoid the immutable truths of the Word of God, say things like, “There is no truth“, or “Truth is not absolute“, “Truth cannot be known“, or the sort. It is actually one of the most stupid and self-contradictory things I have ever heard.

If those who say such things are so sure that those statements are true, then by implication it cannot be that truth cannot be known. Why? If the statement, “Truth cannot be known” is true, then truth can be known. If not, how did these fellows arrive at the statement that “truth cannot be known” or that “there is no trut”.

If the statement, “There is no truth” is true, then there must be truth, and it must be knowable.

These fellows don’t think through their words and positions, or else they wouldn’t utter such stupidity as “There is no truth“.

Oh, then they also say things like, “What is truth for you may not be truth for others“. Really? Whether anyone thinks it is truth to him or not, truth stands immutable. People who are wise in their own eyes may avoid it, dance around it, try to reduce it to relativity, or deny it altogether, but truth stands immutable. Someday, sooner or later, who no know go know.
